so this is pretty strange. gwar is one of those bands that i've always kind of loved. there is a soft spot inside little spicoli's heart for metal music theatrical splendor...esp. when the theatrics are downright filthy & gWARRRY. (this is the band that stages projectile menstrual juice on to its audience)..... yum........................... yum!
but aside from that, the whole costumes and history of gwar is just pretty epic. these guys have been going strong for some time-they are embarking on their 25th anniversary tour... and i applaud them. lord knows we have a bunch of utterly craptastic top 40 artists that keep resurfacing. (here's looking at you jason mraz or coldplay or even that irritating band that sings, "don't let go..got the music in you..." UGH, major vomit fest indeed!!!!
so back to the main attraction...gwar !! you know you are set up cus you get to hear these guys rock out and then they are going to pull some shit on you at a concert that is always highly entertaining. its a total win win. Oderus Urungus, lead singer of gwar, was just on fox, which was almost as great as the time i peeped them on jerry springer ( please watch both videos below!) upon further inspection on GWAR ONLINE , apparently he's been appointed the "Official Interplanetary Correspondant" to FOX New's late night show "Red Eye". how do you like dem apples?

alice alive in tim burton's wonderland...looks like depp has a fairly large roll as the mad hatter, which is never a problemo. can't wait to see how he solves the caterpillar --one of my favorite parts. i love tweedle dee & dum -and was really delighted to see the chesire cat-- for obvious reasons. i'm trying to scope out who did the costumes, my bet is on colleen atwood. lucky bitch-she possesses one hell of a resume as far as i'm concerned. seriously impressed.

packing, getting ready to hit the road, its been comin & goin so fast. the kinks are one of the greats. i'd like to share with you, this little gem of a tune. by far, one of the grooviest tunes i've ever heard. love when they get all jammy psychedelic in the end. take a listen and i am sure it will be one of your favs too.

admittedly, i was going to title this post, 'future's so bright, gotta wear shades," but then i realized how many douche bags prolly title their posts that when they are referring to their new sunglasses. we all know the last thing i need to run around as is a douche...
super stoked with my new marc jacobs. not that i needed another pair of sunnies, but this was a gift from nordstroms.
really, really dig the green color-i've been looking for something punchy to rev up my black ensembles and the cat eye style is a great frame for my oval shaped face.


i've worn them once and people are really digging them...they usually see them from straight on, and then, when i turn to the side, they go all kinds of gaga to see those little studs. (because studs are sooooooooo cool, vomit in your face!)
i'm not big in the stud overload, only because i see it abused so much. shit, if these kids want to wear studs, maybe i should dig out my old punk collars and wrist bands for them? those must be worth lots of money on ebay.
needless to say, the studs weren't the selling factor for me, but i do love the green shade and the studs do add a little unexpected edge to them that i can appreciate for years to come, since my style is not based on the latest trends.

the other day i was takin a ride with my old man- and he popped in a mix that his friend had kindly sent him. it chronicled the musical life of the one & only, michael jackson. i gotta admit, i was quite the mj fan back in the day..i had something like 10 michael pins on my jean jacket.
and en route to our destination, him & i rocked out, song after song, don't stop till you get enough,blame it on the boogie,man in the mirror, who's lovin' you and black & white.
we musta looked real classic driving along that day, but i couldn't help myself, remembering how much i loved all of these songs. every single one of them, a killer hit! how does that happen?
anyway, in the sweetest memorial i know...
i figure, i share this with my fellow blog readers, which is at a whopping total of FIVE now...
